Group Programs

At Splash, our group programs are a fantastic way to bring the skills learnt in individual sessions into a group setting. We offer a range of group programs to cater for a variety of needs throughout the school year. All of our group programs offered are tailored to align with your child’s individual therapy program. We also offer education programs for parents and caregivers, facilitated by our Speech Pathologists and Occupational Therapists. These programs provide parents and carers with information and skills to support their child’s development at home.

 
 
 

Term 1 Holidays

Lego Special Interest Group

 

Our Lego themed group provides an opportunity for children to engage in both independent and collaborative play using Lego, fostering their creativity as well as social development. 

Werribee Clinic (8-10 years):  
Tuesday 2nd April - Friday 5th April (daily 10:30am - 12:00pm)

Please note: this is a 4 day program due to Easter Monday public holiday

Werribee Clinic (5-7 years):  
Monday 8th April - Friday 12th April (daily 10:30am - 12:00pm)

Essendon Clinic:  
Tuesday 2nd April - Friday 5th April (daily 10:30am - 12:00pm)

Please note: this is a 4 day program due to Easter Monday public holiday

Hawthorn Clinic:  
Tuesday 2nd April - Friday 5th April (daily 10:30am - 12:00pm)

Cost: $969.95 for 5 day program, $775.96 for 4 day program.

Craft Special Interest Group

 
 

Suitable for children aged 5-7 years
Our craft group allows children the opportunity to engage in both independent and collaborative craft and construction projects, supporting their skill development in a range of areas including team work, compromise, negotiation and problem solving.

Tuesday 2nd April - Friday 5th April (daily 10:30am - 12:00pm)

Essendon Clinic: 
Monday 8th April - Friday 12th April (daily 2:00pm - 3:30pm)

Hawthorn Clinic: 
Monday 8th April - Friday 12th April (daily 10:30am - 12:00pm)

Basketball Group

 
 

Suitable for children aged 8-12 years
The Splash Basketball Group is an opportunity for participants to come together to engage in a supportive environment to share their interest in basketball.

The group will support the development of your child’s gross motor skills for participating within the game, as well as offer the opportunity to socialise as a team.  

Session format:
Day 1:

  • Held at the clinic

  • Introduction to the game of basketball, e.g. court set-up, rules, basic skills

  • Identify group expectations

  • Identify child chosen goals for developing basketball skills

Days 2-4:

  • Held at the local basketball stadium

  • Development of basketball skills, e.g. ball handling skills, passing/catching, dribbling, shooting, following instructions, working as a team

  • Working towards achieving child chosen goals

Werribee Clinic & Altona Basketball Stadium
Monday 8th April - Friday 12th April (daily 9:30am - 11:00am)
(Monday at clinic, Tues-Fri at Altona Basketball Stadium)

Cost: $1,234.74 for 5 day program
(Includes 2x Therapists)

Soccer Group

 
 

Suitable for children aged 7+ years
The Splash Soccer Group is an opportunity for participants to come together to engage in a supportive environment to share their interest in soccer.

The group will support the development of your child’s gross motor skills to enable their participation within the game, as well as offer the opportunity to socialise as a team.

Session format:
Day 1:

  • Based at the clinic

  • Introduction to the game of soccer; what do we know about soccer, what are the rules, what are the skills required?

  • Identify group expectations

  • Establish child chosen goals for developing soccer skills

Day 2-4:

  • Held within the community

  • Development of specific soccer skills in line with the child’s goals, e.g. passing, dribbling, kicking, understanding rules of the game, applying skills to real life play as a team 

  • Exploring ways to extend practice outside of group sessions
