Speech Pathology Services

Paediatric Speech Pathologists diagnose and treat communication and feeding disorders in children.Specifically, they have specialist training in supporting you and your child in the following areas of communication:

Language: The way in which we use and understand vocabulary, sentence structure and grammar to communicate a desired message and interact with others across environments

Alternative communication: Finding alternative or assistive ways to support children who are minimally verbal or non-speaking to communicate.

Speech skills: Using clear and accurate speech sounds (“articulation”) when talking.

Literacy (reading and writing/spelling): Using letters and sounds to read and spell words.

Fluency and stuttering: Speaking smoothly without any bumps.

Voice: Speaking with clear vocal quality, pitch and loudness.

Feeding, Eating and Mealtimes: Our speech pathologists have specialised training to support children who experience challenges with their eating and drinking.
